Have you been to the Little Old House Of Make Believe yet? #LilOldHouse

The Little Old House of Make Believe is a much needed play space that recently opened up in the heart of Langhorne Boro in Bucks County.

I recently had the chance to take my Girl Scout Daisy Troop to this newest and most awesome play space in the area.  The greatest part about The Little Old House Of Make Believe  is that kids use their IMAGINATIONS and CREATIVITY to have some good old-fashioned fun!  The girls all had such a great time and there is not a moon bounce or video game in sight!

The owner Rachel is so wonderful – PERFECT for this  gig (she used to be in marketing but has turned her love of children and arts and crafts into a business)  and says “We offer families a homemade, heartfelt experience where children’s imaginations run wild.  We specialize in personalized themed birthday parties, open play and girl scouts.”   Although my troop was all girls, there is plenty there for boys to do too!

The girls started off their “play date” in the dress up area. They had such a blast dressing up.  There are so many costumes available, your child can turn themselves into almost anything they want to pretend to be.

Once they are in all decked out they can take their ensemble and their little imaginations to the open play area where they can act out being a rock star on stage, a pirate searching for buried treasure or any other scenario they can dream up.

Rachel is so accommodating.  My girls were working on their “Make the World a Better Place” badge and she personally customized our play date around that theme.   The girls all listened to Rachel read the children’s book “The Giving Tree” (which is one of my favorite stories – teaches such a good lesson)  and made a “Kindness Jar”.  A Kindness Jar is a fun activity to teach kindness and encourage positive behaviors.  Each time a child does something nice, a piece of paper can be put in the jar describing the act of kindness.  Children can also receive points when their parents or siblings observe a kind act and as a result enter a piece of paper.

Rachel thought of everything – she provided the snack and drink and even had the girls make a bird feeder for the little creatures of the world.  (It was made with peanut butter, but allergies are a top consideration when you come to play there!)

I think one of the best parts was that the kids made an ABSOLUTE MESS while having fun and we didn’t have to clean it up!  (Sorry, Rachel!)

This place is so awesome there is something new planned to do almost every day!

Check out the current schedule and open play times below.

The Little Old House also offers Birthday Parties, Mommy & Me Open Play, Fun Classes, Girl Scout Troop activities, and something new!    The Little Old House of Make Believe is launching Spoonful of Sugar  offering “event nanny” services for events including corporate parties, family picnics, weddings, rehearsal dinners & reunions. Children receive undivided attention from caring “nannies” who entertain with games, crafts, face painting & fantastic activities.

My daughter loved The Little Old House so much, she keeps asking to go back over and over again.   There is a ton of info about The Little Old House of Make Believe on their web site – which you can go to HERE.

GO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! I HONESTLY CAN’T WAIT TO VISIT AGAIN!

The Gender Dilemma Part II

Does anyone remember a few months ago – in this post – how anxious I was to find out the sex of my baby?  Not sure if you all recall, but I went (ran like a wild woman) to Fetal Vision Imaging in Langhorne, PA to see if I could have them confirm what the Perinatalogist’s office had already told me.   And sure enough, I was able to get a valid confirmation of my……

LITTLE BOY!

I am sooo excited!

I think we are so blessed to be able to have the experience of raising both a girl and boy.

And…  to be honest I am really looking forward to cheering on some Little League baseball in my future!  :)

Johnny & Sherry, the owners of Fetal Vision, are the greatest people.  Friendly, informative and only want you to have the best experience when you are there.   That is why they are so hung up on making sure you DRINK PLENTY OF WATER before you have an ultrasound done with them.  72 oz. of water a day to be exact! Drinking all of that water helps to keep the amniotic fluid nice and clear so that you get the best pics possible of your baby.

I told Johnny that I was going to share the pics with you all and he was  SUPER nice enough to do a quick 3D shot for me!  I am only 16 weeks along here, (and WAS NOT drinking 72 oz. of water a day) so the pic isn’t as clear as it could be.  The baby also doesn’t look like you would normally see advertised at one of these ultrasound sessions.  This is one of the reasons they stress LOTS OF WATER and why that they like to do them when the baby is bigger and more pudged up and filled out – around 26 – 28 weeks.

Fetal Vision Imagining offers all kinds of  packages so even if you are on a tight budget, I think there is something you can afford if you really want to get a 3D peek at the reason why your belly is a big as house.  ;)    Click HERE to see what they offer.

I am having a 2nd 3D/4D Ultrasound done in about 2 weeks and we can’t wait to see what/who my baby looks like.  The experience is like nothing else,  (besides actually having and meeting your new little one) because you can share it with others.  My parents and daughter will be coming with us this time.  I know they are just as excited as we are to see our little guy.  We had a 3D Ultrasound done with my daughter before she was born and I feel it helped us to bond with her before she was even here.

Having a baby is such a wonderful time in a woman’s life and I am sooo happy to be able to share it with my family and friends this way.

STAY TUNED FOR SOME AMAZING PICTURES TO COME OF MY LITTLE MAN….
